As an empath, I am attuned to energy and can easily differentiate between positive and negative energies but sometimes we can be caught off guard. I have always relied on my crystals for protection, peace, and harmony.
You can use crystals in the following way:
- Wearing or carrying jewellery (necklace, bracelet, or ring),
- Pocket, wallet, purse, or bra,
- Display them in your home, sacred area, office, or car to create a shield of positive energy and to help prevent negativity in your space.
I have found crystals can be a very powerful tool in warding off negativity. However please remember to cleanse and charge your crystals regularly to ensure that their energy vibration continues powerful.
The crystals listed below are my favourites; however, because there are so many different crystals with unique properties and energies, it is important to find the one that resonates with you and meets your personal needs.
BLACK TOURMALINE
Black tourmaline is known for its grounding and protective properties. It has the potential to neutralise negative energies, within a person or surroundings. Due to its strong energy, it is a highly effective stone that balances out negative energies. Not only does it help to remove negativity, but it also draws positive energy into your auricle field. This crystal is also capable of purifying and transforming dense energy into uplifting positive vibrations.
How to use:
- Place a piece of black tourmaline at your home’s door to prevent negative energy from entering.
- To shield oneself against negative energy at work, place a piece of black tourmaline on your desk.

SELENITE
Selenite is commonly thought to possess the ability to purify and energize other crystals, release obstructions in one’s energy field, and channel strong, high-frequency energies into the body, encouraging spiritual development and mental clarity. This crystal is often utilized as a protective talisman, shielding individuals and environments from external forces, and is especially effective at dispelling harmful energies while fostering a peaceful and tranquil ambiance.
How to use:
- You may use selenite to create a protective shield for your home, sacred space, or office.
- You may carry selenite to shield against negative energy throughout the day.
- You may use selenite to cleanse and absorb negativity from other crystals. Place it on top or beside them.

CLEAR QUARTZ
Clear Quartz, the widely known crystal, varies in its transparent to colorless colour. As known as the ‘Master Healer’, Clear Quartz is believed to amplify energy through absorption, storage, release, and regulation. Along with aiding concentration and memory, it is highly valued for its healing properties.
How to use:
- Always set an intention before using clear quartz.
- Place a piece of clear quartz in your hand and state your intention:- “I am removing all negative energy from my life” or ‘” I am drawing positive energy and deflecting negativity”
- Keep your crystal close to you to maximize its protective effects.

AMETHYST
Amethyst has natural calming properties that can soothe stress and tension, promote emotional balance, and ease feelings of fear and anger. This gemstone also helps eliminate negative energies, creating a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere. It is known for stimulating spiritual consciousness, enhancing intuition, and improving psychic abilities. Additionally, Amethyst is believed to energize and balance the crown chakra, promoting spiritual growth and greater intuition.
How to use:
- Wearing amethyst jewellery may help to protect against negative energy from others.
- To prevent nightmares and psychic interference, place an amethyst under your pillow.
