Tingsha Tibetan Brass Bell

Tibetan cymbals, or tingsha, have long been an integral part of Hindu and Buddhist rites and ceremonies, as well as musical instruments for chanting and singing. Meditation, healing rituals, and sound therapy can all benefit from the use of these cymbals.

The traditional practice of toning involves utilising the Tingsha bells as a means of alleviating mental stress and anxiety. Their ability to release blockages and promote the free flow of positive Chi energy allows them to strengthen brainwaves and promote the flow of healthy energies throughout the body.

To help concentrate before and after meditation, try striking two cymbals against each other; this will provide a clean, cleansing sound. It is thought that the lower chakras are most attuned to the deeper tone of the bells, while the higher ones are opened by the higher frequencies.

In the meantime, bells are thought to "fill" vacant space and purge auras in Feng Shui. Holding a length of leather rope in each hand, gently tap (do not slam) the ends together to use. Visualize the result you want and tap three times in each room corner to release any negative energy.

HOW DO I USE TIBETAN TINGSHA BELLS?

• To use the Tibetan Tingsha, hold the leather cord in your fingers and allow the cymbals to strike the rim of the other cymbal.
• Once the sound has stopped, resonating, allow the cymbals to strike again. Strike it softly for a smoother sound (not a bang).
• You can also play Tingsha by clapping together.
• To clear negative energy, tap three times in each corner of the room while visualizing the desired outcome.
